School visits to the Compassion Soup Kitchen have been increasing
over the past year. This initiative invites students into our world for
a couple of hours. They have a chance to learn about our kaupapa
and some of the challenges our whanau face. These visits are
scheduled in the afternoon, offering participants a chance to
engage in a lively Q&A session with Amanda French, Receptionist
and Volunteer Coordinator and Jo White, Education Coordinator.

Responses to this educational activity have been overwhelmingly
positive, providing students with a firsthand experience and
knowledge of what the Compassion Soup Kitchen looks like and
how it operates. Additionally, it encourages them to consider what
they can do in their own communities to help those who might be
struggling.
