Creating meals for the Soup Kitchen keeps our chefs very busy, and we’re always restocking the shelves. Our chefs are very skilled and innovative – planning the Soup Kitchen meals around the donations that have been brought in to us! Small or large, food donations always help.

You can help by donating items that are essential to keep our kitchen running

Items added in February 2019

Tinned tomatoes (large), gravy powder, salt, white sugar, margarine/butter, UHT milk, stock (all varieties), oil (olive and canola).

Dry goods

Stock (all varieties), gravy powder, pasta, dried herbs (oregano, basil, bay leaves, mixed herbs), plain flour, white sugar, salt and black pepper.

Fresh produce

Potatoes, carrots, broccoli, apples, garlic, or any seasonal produce…

Tinned foods

Veges,  soup, tinned tomatoes, tinned corn…

Frozen foods

Peas, corn, veges, chickens, meat…

Dairy and protein

Cheese, eggs, UHT milk, butter.

We have many and varied donations, from people dropping off homemade cakes, to calling the kitchen, asking what meat we’d like purchased that week, then bringing it in! If you’d like to donate food, our kitchen is open for donations 7am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday or on Saturdays from 2.30pm – 5.30pm. If it is a large donation please contact the kitchen to arrange a delivery time on (04) 282 0314.

Please note we are unable to accept food items that are past their expiry date, items that have been defrosted, food with opened packaging or food requiring refrigeration left outside our door. Please contact us if you’d like more information about which food we can accept.
