Creating meals for the Soup Kitchen keeps our chefs very busy, and we’re always restocking the shelves. Our chefs are very skilled and innovative – planning the Soup Kitchen meals around the donations that have been brought in to us! Small or large, food donations always help.
You can help by donating items that are essential to keep our kitchen running
Dry goods
Coffee – fresh and instant, lentils, split peas, pearl barley…
Fresh produce
Potatoes, carrots, broccoli, apples, or any seasonal produce…
Tinned foods
Veges, fruit, soup, coconut milk, fish…
Frozen foods
Peas, corn, veges, chickens, meat…
Protein
Cheese and eggs.
We have many and varied donations, from people dropping off homemade cakes, to calling the kitchen, asking what meat we’d like purchased that week, then bringing it in! If you’d like to donate food, our kitchen is open for donations 7.30am – 6.00am, Monday to Saturday.
If you’ve any other ideas for food donations, please get in touch with us, we’d love to discuss it with you.
Please note we are unable to accept food items that are well past their expiry date, items that have been defrosted, food with opened packaging or food requiring refrigeration left outside our door. Please contact us if you’d like more information about which food we can accept.
